Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Police state they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report initial examinations show the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for information.

A senior political figure said the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
